A seal on the beach

In the quest of getting out of the city on the weekend - today was a drive up to Deception Pass State Park. It is home to some beautiful cliffs, a great bridge and some amazing views toward the islands of the sound.



The highlight of the trip for me was seeing a seal playing in the waters on one of the beaches. It seemed to swim along as we walked along the beach. It was hard catching him above water (especially since I only had my point and shoot... I brought my DSLR forgetting the memory card at home...) with the camera, but I got a couple of shots. Curious little fella who kept swimming up whenever a large tide would come in.

He's a bit hard to see in this photo - he is what looks like a piece of driftwood in the middle of the photo. Very sad to not have had my DSLR again... this is the second time I've forgotten the memory card since I've started this photo taking mission. Must not happen again.
